@christopher_m One good thing that may come of this - people in OKC may start to see Clay Bennett as the prick the rest of America knows he is (though Bennett still is the 3rd villain behind Stern/Schultz in that fiasco). Also, Aubrey "Swift Boat" McClendon's Chesapeake Energy stock tanking may have come home to roost.
@blazeraddict but even so don't you just try to win the title this year then figure it out unless someone knocks your socks off? That team was not that far from winning it all... now you clearly downgrade it, sure there were money issues but this was a year premature.
@christopher_m They probably figure that between Durant and Westbrook there aren't many shots to go around in that unit, and Harden was starting to become too rich (in a financial and talent sense) for a sixth man. Maybe he also wasn't very happy with that role no matter how much they stressed harmony. And with Durant and Westbrook super-maxed out, they can use the cheap rookie scale deals to fill out the roster.
@christopher_m With an offer like that they likely could have gotten into the Iggy sweepstakes, but maybe he was older than what they were looking for. Any rookie SG has the chance to be a top 5-10 SG in this crappy position situation, no?
@Norsktroll but really is this what you would have traded him for? If I'm OKC I'm looking for a real defensive presence not an injury prone SG who's going to walk and a totally unproven SG to replace Harden.
@christopher_m @blazeraddict I think it was the right time to sell high if they didn't plan on maxing him. They get a good replacement with Lamb who might have additional upside, can play out this year with Martin, and get a few good picks to use or bundle later.
For Houston, I'm not even sure Harden is Morey's end goal. He might flip him, or he's really convinced he's their new all-star.

Who gets cut?
I think Brockman and Hayward are givens, but after that it's any person's guess. Financially, waiving Livingston makes more sense than Douglas due to the partially guaranteed nature of Shaun's contract. At the 5, either Aldrich or Smith could get axed; it depends on if Morey wants to keep his guy or give Cole a look. Between Forbes and Cook, it's a toss-up; meanwhile, I'd argue that Johnson is more expendable due to Jones' eventual position likely to be the 4, while Forbes and Cook can provide much-needed wing depth in the meantime.

Crap. Just realized this trade probably hurts my fantasy team. I doubt Lamb will get as much burn in OKC behind Martin AND Thabo as he would have in Houston.
@Dan_tm Lamb should get Cook's spot in the rotation, which is good for about 16 minutes per game. Not great, but far from awful.
