Ronnie Price has played 1234 minutes the past two seasons with a PER of 6.7. Those are the prime seasons of his career, theoretically. I seriously doubt this signing was anything to do with how he can do on-court. Pure locker room/comfort for Lillard signing.
@TiMB it is a bit weird with the guys we have on the roster I would have signed someone you can at least play in case say Nolan turns out to be just horrible. There wasn't a normal decent 12th man out there for cheap?
though olshey's show a little bit of a tendency toward truly terrible players instead of replacement types e.g. Gomes.
@christopher_m @TiMB And yeah, this is about Ronnie knowing Lillard, Wes, and the league. He is like a QB player-coach plus friend/adult supervision. Even A. J. Price is better statistically.

@christopher_m The semi-logical reasons I can see for it -
- He knows Lillard and Wes
- He seems like a better than average defender, which would be a good thing for someone Lillard goes up against in practice, theoretically, and perhaps might be an area where Price can share some expertise/tricks.
Bringing Przy back would be pretty much the exact same thing for Meyers.

@christopher_m At the end of the roster, a number of good coaches and GMs prefer washed up vets over younger potential. Even guys like Presti. Beats me, I am no locker room chemistry major.

Maybe he can teach Lillard to be a good defender at the point. Numbers indicate he's been decent in that regard over his career.

In the next SL game would you rather:
- See Lillard have a totally dominant game scoring, insane efficiency and something like 35-40 points
or
- See him have an average night scoring the ball but rack up a ton of dimes, somewhere around 15/13
