Unlike Ian, I was first to make a new DE. Suck it, Ian.
It still needs the @dj idoltime stamp of approval before it is a legitimate DE though... so: theoretically suck it, Ian.
@We Want Wiggins and this baby giraffe daily just overtook Hem's to be #2. awesome
You're welcome @TiMB ! #statpaddinglikeZBoandKLoveandtheinfamousBobSura
Did this get posted already? https://twitter.com/blakegriffin32/status/309105636963123200
I like BG.
@TiMB lolol at Olden Polynice.
@TiMB Sometimes I want to like him because he's funny. Then I watch how he acts the rest of the time, and it's difficult.

This daily is about to be the #2 most commented on of all time
@dj idoltime We need to ride Baby Giraffe all the way to the top spot.
@TiMB @dj idoltime http://www.hulu.com/watch/42614
@TiMB @jakesnake99 @dj idoltime hopefully pwe3 will make it easier to make DE's more often. Who's working on pwe3 again?
@jakesnake99 @dj idoltime Really though, fuck Hulu. It'll tell me it's an SNL video on giraffes but watch it? Nah.
Saturday Night Live did a digital short about giraffes not so very long ago
@jakesnake99 @dj idoltime Thanks for linking a geographically restricted video. Whattadick.
@dj idoltime I take that back. So long as I top Hem's best, you can keep the crown : P
@TiMB that 3700 comment one of mine was pretty unwieldy towards the end. I want ian to make a new one in the morning.
Memphis preview: http://thepwe.com/fanposts/blazers-look-for-road-win-against-surging-grizzlies/
andre miller in the 4th quarter tonight: 4 assists, 5-5 from the field. turnover with .4 left trying to throw the ball to the ref as the game expired.
only 60 points in the paint tonight for denver, team's going soft. Karl should tear everyone a new one.
@christopher_m DMC with not the most efficient game ever
@jakesnake99 @christopher_m Reke with a game in which he apparently stood around without the ball for about half an hour.
@jakesnake99 Yeah, I think a good defensive coach can make bad defensive players part of a decent unit. I just mean that guys like those two, who have the tools to be very good on D, may never have a positive impact as individual defenders.
I have no doubt CKC can coach Reke up real good though. REAL good.
@TiMB I tend to have a lot of faith in good defensive coaches. Maybe too much, but I dunno.
@jakesnake99 Sorta seems like it. You wonder with guys like him and Reke whether they've played bad D for too long now. Might be a tough habit to break.
@jakesnake99 I think he could be serviceable.
@TiMB @jakesnake99 well yeah. and having the worst defense. marcus thornton scored 30 but also he was supposed to be guarding miller, so...
@christopher_m @jakesnake99 Plus defense. Oh that defense.
Would Jason Thompson be good defensively if he didn't play for the Kings?
@TiMB @jakesnake99 when Marcus Thornton scores 30 points it is antithetical to the Kings philosophy for other players to try to get involved in the offense. that's why they suck.
Ibaka has hit 14 threes this season, all from the corner. Had no idea.
its really nice having westbrook on my fantasy team
Stanford undergrad Senate in session now... following on the twitters, this should be interesting
Still nothing official, but it looks like it was 7 votes against divestment, 2 for, 5 abstain.
@jakesnake99 Those divestment votes come up all the time at colleges. Usually administrators don't go with it if it threatens their endowment funds. Or they say something like "well, then we can't renovate the dorms" and students say "oh, alright then".
@ assuugsenate
(Second resolution did not mention Israel specifically)
Second resolution proposed by senators DID pass: 0 opposed, 5 abstain, 8 in support
Original bill to Divest from specific companies operating in Israel: did NOT pass. 7 opposed, 5 abstaining, 1 in support.

texted my friend who's there-- says there are ~2 hundred angry people and they've been arguing since 7
Caterpillar is one of the two companies on the revised bill. That's the company that makes bulldozers. Rachel Corrie's parents sued Caterpillar after her death. Still haven't figured out what the other one is.
@jakesnake99 and weirdly big bricks and mortar manufacturing cos probably need the capital the least... the only way to hurt a shoe or tractor company is to kill demand for unethically sourced shoes or tractors, not to kill investment $$ for unethically sourced shoes and tractors... but of course that inconveniences people a lot more than telling other people where to invest.
@christopher_m yeah, that's an interesting point
@jakesnake99 this has nothing to do with either stanford or israel, but the thing i found with these divestment things is basically you end up investing in technology / knowledge industries since anyone who makes actual shit usually has dirty hands somewhere, whether it's human rights or the environment.
ah, I found the bill- Veolia is the other one. Interesting-- Veolia's a big company that does a lot of things, but I've always known them as a company that does lots of work on water infrastructure in the developing world.

@jakesnake99 looks like undergrad.
@jakesnake99 Handle? Which 8 were on the shit list?
@jakesnake99 Found it - surprised it's an Israel-Palestine issue, thought this would be more Occupy/anti-fortune 500
@Dan_tm @jakesnake99 @blazeraddict People that rigid on issues this complex are tough to talk to at all.
@dj idoltime @jakesnake99 @blazeraddict He's pretty black and white on most subjects, so he's hard to talk to. He was initially really down on Obama, since he liked Hillary. Now we can't say boo criticizing Obama, or he'll totally freak out.
@Dan_tm @jakesnake99 @blazeraddict Most people I know who want to talk about this with me are militant in one direction or the other so I entirely can relate.
@dj idoltime @jakesnake99 @blazeraddict It still seems like a better manner to discuss it than trying to talk to my father in law about it.
@jakesnake99 @blazeraddict It doesn't seem like the best manner by which to discuss the event. But it's the way the issue resonates for people who are pro-Palestine. Israel is seen as an American-sponsored terrorist state by that group. The sponsorship/investment angle gets a number of people up in a huff about it.
@jakesnake99 Yeah, this doesn't strike me as a way that moves the discussion forward
@blazeraddict agreed, a nuanced view of the situation is definitely needed. I dislike a lot of Israeli policy towards the occupied territories, too, but as far as the undergrad senate voting on this, I think it unfairly singles out Israel, and it wouldn't be a good use of this body's time to review all of the school's investments. The University has a lot of investments in a lot of things.
@jakesnake99 I hate the gross over-simplifications that come with the debate. I'm no fan of Israeli policy, but pretending the Palestinians are like the damn freedom fighters in "Rambo III" is willfully ignorant, imo
@blazeraddict It very much splits the campus based on how you see the Middle East situation
@blazeraddict following here https://twitter.com/search/realtime?q=%23stanforddivests&src=hash-- this is the hashtag the divestment proponents are using; haven't found any live tweeting from the opponents.
8 companies were Ahava, Motorola,Caterpillar, Lockheed Martin, Riwal, Roadstone Holdings, Mekorot Water Company, and Veolia Transport
@jakesnake99 Diana Valerie is live tweeting the meeting too
number of companies to divest from reduced from 8 to 2 in bill... not sure which 2
