@ian21 @blazeraddict Hardly prospects at all. Far from the top of the Yankee farm system. Ichiro has little trade value as a not-particularly-productive 38 year old. On the field, perhaps the M's should have sold high years ago, but that had to be weighted against his box office/tv/merch value.

Buch using Varejao as a comparison for Meyers is interesting....to me at least. I could dig that.
@TiMB I'd hope more for the Chandler/mcGee comparison. Varejao only does 2-3 awesome things per game, but is not a core piece for a great team.
@Norsktroll @TiMB I think you can hope for Chandler on D and McGee on O but that is his absolute ceiling. Varejao as a mid point would be pretty nice, seeing as he's one of the best defensive bigs in the league. Robin is probably what we should expect though, yeah.
That he's no Brook Lopez was an honest assessment though. If anything he's more a Robin.
Saying Barton is more of a two is disappointing though. Goes back to what Dan is trying to fix - defining a guys position by his size/weight rather than what he does well.

@Blaine Jungwirth when you are a governing body that governs institutions you have to make the (tenuous) assumptions that organizations can be subject to punishment like humans, otherwise you can't have any punishments at all. That's the failure of the logic that none of the people actually involved in the wrongdoing will be punished.

@Dan_tm I wanna know what kind of ping-pong R-Jeff and Luke play together, for I bet they get good use out of those paddles. Also, I laughed out loud when he said "big boys" to the weightlifting question. A few guys not knowing what fencing is was funny, too. A "group of guys" regarding synchronized swimming was also golden, yeah.
The best part, however, is he answered the questions super seriously, while others took a more lighthearted approach.
