Martell almost got a career high. Meyers remains the only semi-competent Blazer bench guy.
@jakesnake99 Try Barton more, wtf not..
If Blazer talk is banned in the JD at BE, then Tumblr talk should be banned in post-game threads.
Tim Duncan is unreal
@jakesnake99 I'd laugh if Duncan got one more ring before he retired, but Brady and Manning didn't.
lolzers. Can't say I was bothered by the loss. In more important news, I totally watched that game on my roommate's new Roku using the gametime channel and the LP free trial. Baller.
@jakesnake99 Just the way it happened.
Troll hard "USC, Texas, and Ohio State have never had a QB start a Super Bowl. Delaware has had 2 and Nevada now has one!"
@skywaker9 (David) Only the Naval Academy, Michigan, Miami (OH) and Stanford have produced both a president and a SB winning QB.
Just went and started at my Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl Oregon champion hats for a few minutes, feel better.
@skywaker9 (David) I think you win the most emotionally invested fan on PWE award.
@ian21 Didn't help that I was riding an emotional high from FUCK YEAH OBAMA!
Still riding that btw.
@ian21 I play up the investment on PWE twitter because its what fans want. I'm actually pretty even keeled most of the time. Only time I've gotten that into a game this year really was Miami and the Lakers, that was awesome.
@ian21 Hmm ... "as an observation," eh.
How very Jerry Seinfeld of you. :)
I meant it as an observation.
@ian21 All better now.
@ian21 I'm usually pretty detached but that one fucking sucked.
Happy fucking inauguration day Washington.
@skywaker9 (David) I'm sure it's what MLK and Barry would have wanted.
@Norsktroll Barry just wants to know if Da Bulls won
@jakesnake99 Hinrich > Nash.
@AK1984 whoa, I just now saw Kirk's line. Dayum. Everyone loves playing the Lakers.
@jakesnake99 I want to attend that beer summit.
@AK1984 Kirk and Obama are pals
@jakesnake99 @Norsktroll HINRICH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh wow Batum got a triple double tonight?
@MattBRC He's now exactly as good as Brandon Roy.
@MattBRC Second best SF in the West :-)
At least our core is decent. Just need a bench and a starting center. Or as Olshey calls it: 3 good players
@Norsktroll @MattBRC can you imagine if we drafted Durant? He would have never developed playing 8 minutes a game behind Batum ;)
@Norsktroll @MattBRC so easy to get 3 good players with capspace and next to no assets...
Could easily see a 12 game losing streak, Indiana, 2 vs. LAC, Dallas 2 vs. Utah.
@skywaker9 (David) February sure looks brutal
I don't think Phil Mickleson is getting much sympathy.
@ian21 Come move to Seattle, Philbert "Tits" Mickelson. In Washington, we've got no state income tax!
@ian21 What happened?
@Dan_tm Phil was just complaining about his tax rates and said he was going to do some "drastic changes." He said he pays 62-63% in taxes,
@ian21 @Dan_tm Yeah. Stuff like that is why I'm in favor of a simplification of the tax code. I think Phil may be the only rich guy is the country who didn't find the appropriate loopholes, but my larger point is why does it need to be that complex/subject to hoop jumping
@blazeraddict @Dan_tm his income is mostly taxed as an independent contractor I got to imagine.
@ian21 @Dan_tm Two things I get from this: (1) he needs to fire his accountant and (2) that is a utterly ridiculous level of tax, regardless of what his income/after tax take home is.
@ian21 i think he needs a new accountant.
@christopher_m KPMG's clients are probably 95% angry white Republicans so he is probably good with his sponsor at least.
yeah. it is a long slow rot which is too bad, the UC system was the best/largest public uni system in the world and that's all in danger though that's not exactly a unique trouble.
@christopher_m @ian21 A big factor in all this could be the financial shit-storm facing the UC system. Stanford and Santa Clara will keep churning out engineering grads, but the UCs, especially Berkeley, do a lot as far as feeding the startup scene with talent
@blazeraddict @ian21 those kinds of shifts take time. we'll see. houston/dallas are low cost metro areas that have grown a lot in those areas.
@christopher_m @ian21 Yeah. Top tech (SF) and entertainment (LA) talent are centered there. I wonder if Austin continues its semi-rise as a tech hub (UT + low cost of living + desirable city + Texas tax rates). Silicon Valley is its own animal though
@ian21 meh, most of the business done in LA and SF can't be done as well elsewhere. They are industry centers. The price of real estate (office and housing) there already operates as a huge de facto tax but it's one ppl are willing to pay.
@christopher_m yeah, I wouldn't blame him. California is definitely taking a bit of a gamble.
@ian21 its fine and smart for him to move, if you can easily move you should do that to avoid taxes. but just because some people move to avoid taxes doesn't mean CA or any other state should cut its taxes, people and companies move money to other jurisdictions all the time... doesn't make Phil a victim just a rational dude. and possibly (but not definitely) evidence of a problem with CA's tax rates.
@ian21 its true i'd be pretty careful about vindictive taxes on the wealthy.
@christopher_m yeah... but I do agree with the premise that states should be careful because moving to a new state is easy.
@ian21 and companies do business in California because of the climate those programs create...
@ian21 yeah whatever. it's easy for a pro golfer to move, just based on taxes, for most people and companies high taxes fund things that make things better, which is why mississippi has third world level infant mortality. and terrible schools.
@christopher_m I got to think the PGA is pissed though... not exactly going to broaden the fan base.
@ian21 yeah.
